10 Best Things to Do While Stoned

What are some fun things to do while stoned? This is a question that has an answer many may not expect. Today’s stoner is not the lazy jobless bum on the couch that reefer madness and decades of negative anti-cannabis propaganda has painted a picture of. Many stoners today are driven by the pursuit of knowledge and happiness. They want to help facilitate and usher in a much-needed change in our way of life. From spirituality to the environment and virtually everywhere in between the cannabis consumers of today are changing the stereotypical stoner stigma of yesteryear.
With that in mind, many of us still love to get stoned. Getting stoned is an escape from the pressures and weights of daily life. Instead of our minds being blocked by the worries of paying bills on time, remembering important dates, and keeping general life in order cannabis allows many people a slight release of these responsibilities. People who consume cannabis can focus on a wide array of other things they enjoy while confidently knowing things like bills and other general aspects of life will remain there waiting for them always.
Cannabis consumers tend to enjoy many of the same things. Wizards, space, spirituality and mysticism, environmental issues and technological advancements, the list goes on when it comes to things to explore while you’re in an elevated state of mind.  Here are 10 things to do when high!

Explore Your Spirituality

Exploring your spirituality sometimes is more than just looking at how many times or if you go to church. It’s more than your religious point of view. Morality, minimalism, evil, money, the afterlife, and more all help explain the spirituality of an individual. Where does life come from and what is its purpose? What is my goal in life? These are all journeys you can take into exploring your spirituality.
Keep an open mind even outside of particular religions you are accustomed to. Countless souls before you have embarked on the journey to discover a deeper understanding of their spirituality. Cannabis can help facilitate the calmness and clarity needed to assimilate information that may help you find out more about your spirituality.

Dive into Mysticism

Stand on the board and plunge gracefully into the sea of mysticism while you enjoy a heightened state of mind through cannabis. Mysticism offers many paths to help discover hidden truths in the pursuit of knowledge. Religious ecstasies combined with ideologies such as myths, legends, ethics, magic, and rites frequently help individuals on their path of discovery.
Utilizing the time you have with heightened senses thanks to a balanced endocannabinoid system makes for a perfect opportunity to explore mysticism and all it entails. Learn about the stars, how to read tarot cards, or explore meditation. These are just some of the things you can do to increase your study into mysticism and all it stands to offer.

Learn About Holism

Holism is a word that is commonly applied to ecology, language, and the mental state of mind. It refers to an intimate interconnection that makes independent parts something more allowing them to function as a whole. The general precipice of holism is that properties should be perceived not as parts of the collection but as a whole. Jan Smuts and Alfred Adler can offer extensive insight into holism and the role it plays in the perceivable universe as we know it.

Increase Your Environmentalism

Sociology, ideology, and philosophy are all influencing environmentalism. The perception of concern related to protecting the environment has given birth to the field of environmentalism. Exploring the avenues of preserving the environment and facilitating a greener tomorrow is a great way to spend some of your elevated time. Cannabis consumers are typically very health conscious and environmentally driven contrary to propaganda.
Organics, sustainability, and environmental longevity are all areas of concern for many cannabis consumers. Actively participating in discussion forums, blogging, and vlogging are all great ways to help facilitate information and knowledge about environmentalism. Not to mention they seem to be that much more profound and clearer when the earth plant cannabis is in hand.

Art

Art is a great avenue to explore while in an elevated state of mine. Consuming cannabis can help spark creativity giving you the creative juices needed to create beautiful works of art. Tattoos, acrylic painting, molding clay, working with wood, and many other forms of art can be amplified for greatness thanks to the influence of cannabis.
Art inspired by cannabis isn’t always pictures of pot leaves or joints with faces. Relaxing and achieving a state of mental clarity is essential for any artist looking to create something profound. Perhaps this is why cannabis is so revered amongst the artistic community.

Poetry

Perhaps you’re a poet and didn’t even know it. Give yourself a chance to see how poetically inclined you are the next time you have a sesh. You can write down poetry on your phone, laptop or computer. You can even scribble it on a napkin while sitting in a restaurant. The word you create in your mind could go on to help influence countless others. Poetry isn’t always about rhyming. It’s about getting your point across in a variety of different methods.

Culinary Skills

Practicing your culinary skills while stoned is a winner chicken dinner, literally. Pretty much anyone who consumes cannabis is going to get a case of the munchies. When the munchies come calling don’t sit there bawling and pick up the phone ordering some quick fast food. Instead, head to the kitchen and create some culinary cuisine that you’ll be proud of.
Fresh meats, fruits, and vegetables are not only fun to prepare in a multitude of different methods, but they’re fun to devour as well. You get to practice your culinary skills and at the same time make some great munchies. Maybe it’s time to try that chicken alfredo recipe or that southern fried chicken recipe you’ve been wanting to try. Perhaps you want to make a batch of fresh chicken enchiladas. No matter how you look at it as long as you give it your all you’ll end up with a winner chicken dinner when practicing your culinary skills stoned.

Sex

One of the greatest pastimes possibly of all to do while you’re stoned is to have sex. Sex with a partner is generally better than sex by yourself, but either way will work. Sex is an essential avenue for human health. Without sex certain chemicals in our bodies are not produced as they should be. This can lead to a little insane activity in the brain. Don’t allow your mind to become sexually deprived. Take advantage of your heightened state of relaxation to enjoy sex or even masturbation.

Photography

When consumers are in an elevated state of mind thanks to cannabis, they find that typical things stand out a little more. Photography is a great thing to practice when you’re stoned. When you are under the influence of the cannabinoids found in cannabis you may have a better eye for the shot then when you’re not.
The relaxing and calming attributes of cannabis will sometimes allow people to do more than just stop and smell the roses, it will enable them to remember to take a photograph of the moment to remember forever. Imagine a picture of you smelling a rose while stoned standing in a garden. That picture will last forever meaning you’ll stay stoned for a moment in time eternally. Now that’s deep!

Exercise

The last thing most of us think about is exercise when it comes to getting high. However, this is proving to be something that many cannabis consumers enjoy. People who previously wouldn’t hit the gym or partake in exercise activities because they were self-conscious seem not to give a phuck when stoned.
They don’t worry about what people will say about them or think about them. Instead, they lace up their shoes and start exercising. For someone who has social anxiety going to a gym can be a nightmare. If you remove that social anxiety from the equation, the gym suddenly isn’t that frightening of a place. In fact, all that workout equipment can be quite fun to play with when you’re stoned.

These are only a few suggestions of the best things to do when you’re stoned. Consuming cannabis heightens senses and increases the emotional state of being for many consumers. Take advantage of these good feelings of happiness and apply them to the things you enjoy in life. What are some of the interesting things you like to do when you are high? Let us know in the comments below! We hope you enjoyed our list of 10 elevated activities to do while stoned!

Top 3 Ways to Infuse Your Danksgiving Feast

The holidays are just around the corner, and if your friends and family are cannabis connoisseurs like yourself, you may be looking at ways to infuse your feast. If so, you will be happy to know that there are many different ways that you can incorporate cannabis into your Danksgiving festivities. Not only are these tips and tricks for infusion great for the holiday season they will work with almost any food all the year through.

Cannabutter Canna be Your Best Friend

One of the most common ways of infusing foods is simply substituting butter for cannabis-infused butter or adding it to the recipe. Making cannabis-infused butter is simple to do at home. If you are not familiar with the process, you can check out a quick method that requires no special tools here. With cannabutter on hand infusing your holiday meal is easier than ever. Just add some to your mashed potatoes instead of regular butter, top off your sweet potatoes with cannabis-infused butter, or you can even pack the inside of the skin of your turkey with cannabis-infused butter and allow it to soak into the meat while cooking. If the recipe calls for butter, you can just replace it with cannabutter for an easy cannabis-infused danksgiving meal.

Oil it Up and Call it a Day

Just like butter, there are many recipes that we love to enjoy around the holiday seasons that call for oil. Whether is oil to sauté something or oil in a recipe for your favorite dessert if you have cannabis infused coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil on hand you can just substitute your canna oil instead of using plain boring oil! Some of my favorite ways to use this method of infusion is to use canna oil in my turtle brownie recipe and basting the turkey throughout its cooking cycle. If you’re not sure how to make cannabis oil to use in recipes check out the guide here.

A Some Bud to the Salad- Be Sure to Decarb First

Of course, there is always the method of merely adding fresh bud to your recipes. While this isn’t going to create the best texture in many foods if you are having a salad pre-dinner aside from the salad in your bowl to toke adding fresh cannabis leaves or decarbed cannabis buds ground up with perhaps some extra virgin olive oil drizzled on top would make a great addition. Be sure that your cannabis is decarbed however otherwise the individual enjoying the salad isn’t going to get the effects they might expect! To learn more about decarbing check out this article!
These are just three simple ways to infuse the feast. Do you have a favorite way to infuse your holiday dinners or foods throughout the year? Do you have tools or products that you can’t live without when it comes to infusion? If so, let us know in the comments below!

5 Reasons People Smoke Recreational Weed

There are way more than 5 reasons people use marijuana recreationally.

It doesn’t matter if it’s because MMJ patients don’t get to keep their guns or because you don’t want a paper trail. Some people use weed without getting a medical card. We call these people recreational users and believe these are the top 5 reasons they smoke weed.
While medical patients smoke weed to cure cancer or leukemia, recreational stoners usually smoke for one of the 5 reasons on this list. Some may buck the trend and not conform, but I hope these modern day unicorns are compelled to let us know in the comments how they diverge.

Chilling out

Modern life is full of bullshit that you kind of have to deal with. Mouthing off at work will get most people fired which leads to a host of bad experiences. But that doesn’t make dealing with the crap coming your way any easier. Without a release valve, tension builds until you want to explode at something.
So people smoke to help them deal with the stress of things like exams, getting a divorce or a hard day of work. These people decide to smoke weed instead of lash out destructively in other ways. In a day when a diploma increasingly requires bullet dodging abilities, having a non-violent way to unwind that won’t destroy the body is pretty attractive.

Improving media5 reasons

Everybody knows that smoking weed makes most movies better. Plays, operas and concerts also benefit from toking on some sticky icky. Getting high makes short term memory pretty much worthless. But this is a benefit because it allows you to experience a familiar event as though it were new.
Do you remember what it was like to hear your favorite song the first time? How about a joke so dumb you can’t stop laughing at how bad it is? Now imagine getting that experience over and over and you will begin to understand. Weed makes bad movies hilarious and great movies bend minds in the best of ways.

Dealing with annoying people/situations

We all know that one person who makes your blood boil just by being in the same room as you. We’ve all also wondered if we should smoke before dealing with a terrible situation you simply need to be present for. High stress situations like visiting in-laws or getting a roommate dealing with ‘personal space’ issues often demand a level of calm unavailable to an active mind.
Instead of spending the entire party thinking about how you want to even the score, getting high can give you the ability to simply think about something else. It’s hard to be mad at someone when your thoughts are consumed with the fact that cheese is just moldy milk. Especially when you start trying to figure out to turn expired milk into cheese.

To get off something else

People will try all sorts of things to get over an addiction. Most treatments perform little better than chance. But amazingly, recent scientific studies show that cannabis significantly promotes opioid addiction recovery.
The effects are strongest when the weed is dosed out by doctors instead of by drug dealers. But even the seeds and stems peddled by the U.S. government show signs of actually helping people. The anecdotal evidence for getting off common vices like cigarettes and alcohol is also pretty compelling.

Because it’s better than other drugs

There are a ton of drugs on the market. MDMA, crack, cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, caffeine, and a million others constantly compete with weed for users. But marijuana beats them out for several reasons. The biggest reasons are that weed is cheaper, less harmful, easier to get a hold of and can be dropped at any time.
The lack of hangover and ability to stop using at any time make weed especially nice. Unlike alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, prescriptions and club drugs, nobody has ever died from marijuana alone. So when times get tough, cutting out weed is as easy as not buying it.

Do you agree with our 5 reasons people smoke recreational weed? Know someone this list describes perfectly? It’s OK if you fall into more than one group. Let us know how this list stacks up to your experience in the comment section!

weedreader plane

Hemp Airplane Flies High With Weed Fuel

Can you imagine flying in a hemp airplane?

The idea of a hemp airplane isn’t as far fetched as it might seem. Modern airplanes use special composite fabrics and a liquid epoxy in construction. Fiberglass and carbon fiber are the most common materials in aviation but any fabric works.
There are many reasons to use a given material. Carbon fiber is super light, but is prohibitively expensive. Fiberglass is weaker and heavier than carbon fiber, but it is far cheaper. But both materials come with heavy environmental costs over the course of their lifetime.
Hemp is heavier than carbon fiber but it is lighter than fiberglass, a favorite material of the aerospace industry. The thin strands are actually 10x stronger than steel, meaning building with it takes less material which saves weight. The manufacturing process for hemp is also carbon positive, meaning it reduces the overall level of greenhouse gases.

One stoner made a pot plane his mission.

Derek Kesey is the CEO of Hempearth Group Ltd and the face of the hemp plane. He founded the company in 2012 to explore hemp-based products that can benefit humanity. Kesey kicked things off with an Indiegogo campaign to design the 4-passenger hemp plane and followed it up with investing.
But Kesey didn’t always want to build hemp planes. A former organic-restaurant owner based in Ontario, he dabbled in music and internet marketing in the past. He has also pursued new hemp-based opportunities like hemp-based fuel and launching a cryptocurrency while developing the aircraft.
The extra projects haven’t stopped the hemp plane from moving forward though. As the first commercial airplane to be built entirely out of hemp products, it has everyone doing fly-by’s. It also plans to make headlines when she takes her inaugural flight at the Wright Brothers memorial in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

It really is a hemp airplane.

In addition to making the hard exterior shell and fuel out of hemp, the team tried to work hemp into everything they could. Things like the engine and landing gear have special requirements that prevent using hemp. But the engineers managed to get the final total to just over 75% hemp.
Wanting to make the project truly sustainable, Kesey and his team decided to ditch the traditional fuel. With oil reserves across the globe dwindling, standard options don’t make long-term sense. Instead of running on fossil fuels, the hemp plane uses Hempearth hemp oil to get airborne.
Sourcing genetics from Canada and setting up a chemistry lab in Costa Rica, Hempearth worked hard to fine tune their recipe. But now that the formula is set, they stand to revolutionize the fuel industry. If the process is cost effective going into the future, it will change the world.

Would you fly in a plane made of hemp?Where would you fly if you had a hemp airplane? Would you pay extra for hemp-based fuel to protect the environment? Would you try to smoke the seats or simply enjoy the view? Let us know in the comments below.

Medical Marijuana For Children

Top 5 Medical Reasons People Use MMJ

People have many reasons for smoking MMJ.

Ask 5 stoners why they smoke MMJ and you will likely get 5 reasons. There are a lot of factors in life that dictate our actions and few are predictable or unilateral. After all, it’s hard to be an astronaut in the 1600’s or if you happen to be a felon. Not so much if you are in 1970’s Ohio though.
But that shouldn’t stop us from trying to understand why people consume marijuana. It doesn’t matter if you consume flower, concentrates, edibles or use MMJ topically. If you use marijuana medically, this list probably has you on it.
Just remember that this list is in no specific order. If you disagree with the order or think something else should have been on it, call me out in the comments. Let everyone know what I missed and why it belongs there.

  1. Cancer

Approximately 39.6% of all men and women are diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes. While many remain benign, a vast majority grow rapidly and resist treatment. Some cancers can kill in a matter of months while others take decades to metastasize.
Research shows that MMJ helps treat certain types of cancer. There is still a long way to go but cannabinoids like THC, CBD and CBN show great promise. Especially in cancers like: breast, brain, liver, melanoma, and leukemia.

  1. Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a condition where your brain misfires and causes a seizure. But unlike popular perception, it doesn’t just come from flashing lights. Seizures may even come on unprovoked, as though out of nowhere and for no reason.
There is no cure for epilepsy and it can affect anyone, even children. There are few options on the market that are truly safe for children. But CBD is one of the few natural alternatives to prescription medications that works.
With 65 million people suffering from epilepsy worldwide, cannabis has a lot of work to do.

  1. Chronic Pain

Life is tough and can leave you in constant pain for many reasons. More than 1.5 billion people suffer from chronic pain worldwide with 50 million of them living in the united states. Healing can take a long time and many common pain killers come with risks of dependency or overdose.
Marijuana isn’t chemically addictive like oxycodone or dangerous in large quantities like aspirin. So as patients heal, they can reduce or eliminate using with no long term side effects. As a bonus, we still have zero confirmed deaths exclusively from consuming too much weed.

  1. Anxiety

Some people need help getting through a situation. Others need help just chilling out in general. This includes those suffering from OCD, panic disorder, phobias, bipolar disorder and many other variants.
For the 18% of the U.S. population suffering from anxiety disorders, medication makes life manageable. But not everyone wants to use Xanax to get the job done. Unlike cigarettes or e-juice, cannabis vapor doesn’t harm lungs or cause cancer.

  1. Depression

About 350 million people have depression. Many prescriptions to treat it come with dangerous side effects or are unsafe for children. While THC may be controversial for teens to have, CBD offers many of the same benefits without the cognitive impairment.
Despite this, the federal status of marijuana keeps it from being prescribed in many cases. As a Schedule 1 Drug, it is legally considered to have no medical value. Many doctors simply refuse to prescribe MMJ for religious reasons or because of corporate policies. But increasing acceptance and legal reform are lowering that number.

How Spain Influenced the America Cannabis

How Spain Influenced the America’s with Cannabis

How Did Cannabis Make its Way to the America’s?

Its National Hispanic Heritage Month. The time where we recognize Americans with ancestry in Spanish-speaking nations. To help bring awareness of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we explore Spain’s role in bringing marijuana to the America’s. How hemp made its way to California and how cannabis spread across the U.S. We also explore how a famous Mexican folk song referencing marijuana came to be.

The Cannabis Journey

Cannabis plants first started in Central Asia, in the regions of Mongolia and southern Siberia in 2737 BC. From China, coastal farmers brought the plant to South Korea. Then it reached India, where it was used to relieve anxiety.
Between 2000 BC and 1400 BC, cannabis made its way to Russia and the Ukraine. Germanic tribes eventually got their hand on cannabis and introduced it to central Europe. From there it made its way into Britain during the 5th century with the Anglo-Saxon invasions.
Cannabis migrated to various regions across the world over the following centuries. It traveled through Africa and reached South America before turning northwards. Cannabis arrived in North America with the Spanish and Portuguese during their bloody conquests.

Mayans, Aztecs and Hallucinogens Before Cannabis

‘Entheogen’ is used to describe plants and substances used for traditional sacred rituals. In the early history of Mesoamerica, entheogens were widely used to achieve transcendence. They included all kinds of inebriants from tobacco and marijuana to alcohol and opium in their religious practices. These psychedelic substances played an important role in the spiritual practices of American cultures for millennia before western settlers arrived.
The Mayans flourished in Central America for nearly 2000 years. Yet their last major city fell to the Spanish in 1697 as did their religion. The Mayan’s religious practices included communication between the real world and the spiritual world. They used herbs such as mushrooms and other hallucinogens to help ‘bridge the gap’ between the two worlds.
The Aztecs had similar practices as the Mayans. During the 14th-16th centuries, they used entheogenic plants and animals within their societies. The Aztecs used several types of hallucinogenic plants and used animals as sacrifices to the Gods.

Spain and the Spread of Hemp Production

Before the English and French were planning trips to the new world, Spain was promoting hemp production in its colonies throughout South America. In 1545, hemp seeds were sown in the Quillota Valley in Chile.
Hemp was mostly used to make rope for the army stationed in Chile. The rest of the hemp was used to repair and replace worn-out rigging on ships docked in Santiago, Chile. Surpluses were shipped to north Peru.
Hemp was eventually brought to Mexico by Pedro Cuadrado. He was a conquistador in Corte’s army. Cuadrado and a friend raised a successful hemp production business in Mexico. In 1550, the Spanish governor forced the business to limit production because the natives were using the plants for something other than rope.

Hemp Travels to California

In 1801, the Spanish chose the area around San Jose as an experimental farm area to raise hemp. From 1807 to 1810, California increased annual hemp production to over 22,000 pounds. During the Mexican revolution of 1810, California became detached from the main seat of government. Subsidies that stimulated hemp production ended, and the commercial production of hemp was shut down.

Mexican Mary and Jane

Toward the end of the 19th century, cannabis was in Mexico. It was found growing wild and peasants grew it to smoke in pipes. They also ate it with sugar cane, milk and chiles. Witchdoctors also used cannabis to help the locals cure their illnesses. Within the first few decades, cannabis cigarettes became common, and the contents were called “marijuana”.
Now-a-days, marijuana means cannabis. But no one is sure why cannabis cigarettes were called marijuana. Today we know marijuana cigarettes as joints, jays, doobies or blunts. One possible root of the word seems to come from the Mexican military slang “Maria y Juana” which means Mary and Jane. As in a prostitute or brothel where marijuana cigarettes were bought and sold.
The word marijuana could have also derived from the Spanish word “mallihuan” which means prisoner. And the word mallihuan could have been altered later to sound like marijuana. And don’t forget how Larry Anslinger popularized the term in an attempt to demonize the plant. However the word marijuana came to be, it became widespread in Mexico and eventually made its way to America.

Welcome to the US Cannabis

Cannabis eventually ‘arrived’ to the U.S. at the beginning of the 20th century. During that time, immigrants fled to the U.S. during the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1911 and brought weed with them. The revolution overthrew General Porfiro Diaz in 1910, which increased the Mexican migration and the use of marijuana in the US.
Eventually, the migrant workforce pushed deeper into the US. The towns where they migrated to first were in Texas and New Mexico. But they camped in shanty towns and there was an influx of people trying to find work as unskilled laborers. In order to find a better place to live and seek better opportunities, migrants moved further north.
During most of the 20th century, newspapers disseminated racist propaganda and stereotypes. They did this partly to prevent a perceived invasion and partly because they could. Mexicans had an association with Cannabis that most Americans didn’t. This made targeting cannabis users easier to justify socially than targeting people with Mexican heritage.
Targeting marijuana has continued to the modern day. It remains a stand-in for racial prejudices as the current American President regularly shows. Social appropriation has tied American’s to cannabis like never before. What once was a method to persecute minorities is beginning to backfire on privileged majorities as legalization spreads.

The Famous ‘Roach’

General Diaz was overthrown by Francisco Madero. One of the men in Madero’s forces was Doroteo Arango, who we know today as Pancho Villa. Pancho Villa and his loyal men turned on their commanding officer General Victoriano. Villa was eventually arrested and condemned to death. But he escaped prison and joined up with his troops called the Division del Norte and fled to the US.
Soon, the Mexican’s created a popular folksong, “La Cucaracha”, which became the anthem of Villa’s army. It was a derogatory song against Villa. Villa was always seen smoking marijuana. And his army wouldn’t move without toking before battles.
In the clean version of the song, Villa is the roach who couldn’t walk without his back leg (aka couldn’t walk without his weed). In the original version, it straight up says he couldn’t walk without his weed. It is a song so popular that many outside the Hispanic culture know it to this day. But many people only know of the short clean version. Maybe we can update the song to work for today’s ‘roaches’.

Burning Man In Legal Weed Territory

Burning Man In Legal Weed Territory

Burning Man is more than a convention.

For many of the Burning Man attendees (known as Burners), the eight day festival is a religious experience on par with any pilgrimage. It’s not just coked out junkies or stoned hippies singing Kumbaya either, every walk of life attends. Lawyers, doctors, firefighters, artists and everyone else gather on the scorched plains of Nevada. Known as the Blackrock desert, the playa where Burning Man happens is one of the flattest and driest places on earth. The plain is often used to set land and airspeed records when it isn’t on fire with revelers. Burners normally have to bring anything and everything they will need with them or simply go without. But this will be the first year in over 30 that Burning Man will be held in a state where cannabis is legal. That’s because Nevada recently passed recreational marijuana reform. Now tourists and desert rats alike can legally buy cannabis for the event. They just aren’t legally allowed to openly consume at the event.

Drugs are part of Burning Man.Burning Man

Started back in the late 1980s by a troop of eccentric performers, Burning Man was always about the drugs and personal expansion. Once it moved to the Nevada desert in 1990, the gathering grew to unbelievable proportions. People heard about the party in the desert where they burned a giant statue and had to experience it for themselves. Burning Man has a philosophy that encourages exploration and experimentation. Social norms about drugs, sex and our place in society are openly questioned and debated. Use of every drug under the sun is commonplace in the hedonistic atmosphere of the event. And with over 70,000 people showing up in 2015 alone, the police presence is more of a security detail than an event buster. But that doesn’t mean they won’t confiscate your stash. Even though cannabis is legal (and tame compared to what is available at Burning Man) to consume in Nevada, the event is held on federal land. That means there won’t be any booths selling bud next to the water truck. But that isn’t expected to stop people from buying weed on their way out to the event.

Cannabis shops around the silver state geared up.420 celebrations

Retailers across the state rolled out and rolled up for the event. Everyone from casinos to resturaunts and especially weed shops know what Burners are looking for. In addition to offering Burner themed strains and deals, many retailers created special products and care packages for the festival. One of the new products available to Burners starting Friday, Aug. 25 is called a Burner Box. This collaboration between Blüm and Vegas Weekend Box is designed from the ground up to meet any stoners needs. The box includes some of Nevada’s best-selling cannabis products specially packaged for tourists. The $299 price tag means Burner Boxes aren’t cheap. They do present a sizable value though. The boxes are loaded with cannabis oil, edibles, flower and joints from leading Nevada producers. It also includes a portable vaporizer and a high-end mini-torch designed to withstand the windstorms Blackrock is known for.

It’s no surprise that casinos want in on the hot THC action.

While the Nevada Gaming Commission determines how to provide areas for consuming cannabis in casinos, users can book weed friendly services. The corporation that owns Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Casino, and Circus Circus Hotel Casino in Reno and the Montbleu Resort Casino and Spa in Lake Tahoe isn’t letting this chance pass them by. The company hosts an epic three-day, three-night Burning Man detox starting Sept. 4.

10 Easy Makeshift Smoking Devices

10 Easy Makeshift Smoking Devices

Everyone needs a makeshift piece eventually.

Sometimes, an accident robs you of the only pipe you own and a makeshift option is needed. Other times, you bring weed to a party expecting to find a pipe there already. Either way, two of the three key ingredients for smoking (weed, fire, and a pipe) are present with no hope of the third finding you.
It is up to you to channel your inner MacGyver and create a makeshift smoking device they will talk about for decades. Many stoners struggle with trying to be as inventive as the Big Mac himself. This list will help you go from zero to hero in 420 style.

Here is a list of 10 makeshift smoking devices that will keep the smoke flowing and the party going.

  1. 2-Liter Bong:

Drill a 1/2″ hole halfway down in the middle of a 2-liter bottle. Make another hole on the opposite side of the bottle from the first and about 2 inches higher. Take a 1/2″ straw and wedge a 10mm socket into one end securely. Insert the open end of the straw into the hole at ~45-degree angle. Fill the bottle with water until the tip of the straw is submerged but ensure the liquid does not reach the first hole. Load the weed into the socket, cover the second hole with thumb and draw through the mouth of the bottle.

Pro Tip:

Plastic straws melt (producing toxic chemicals) after a couple hits. Try using silicone straws for a safe makeshift smoking that won’t react to the heat of a bowl. Just don’t try setting silicone on fire.

  1. Apple:Makeshift Smoking Device

Use a pencil or drill to make hole down the entire center of the core. Create another hole that intersects the first hole at ~135 degrees near the bottom of the apple and bite out a bowl. Use the bottom of the core as a carb and the top of the apple as the mouthpiece. Draw hit from the first hole.

Pro Tip:

Place metal or glass bowl (if available) in the hole instead of letting the weed touch the fruit. This keeps the cannabis dry.

  1. Banana:

Use knife to cut the first inch of the tip (not stalk) off the banana. Set the tip aside for use later. Use a straw or drill to create a whole going 1/2 to 3/4 the length from the end that was cut. Drill hole at ~90 degrees to the first hole. Set the tip in the second hole and secure with toothpicks. Use the banana tip as bowl and draw through the first hole.

Pro Tip:

Fresh fruit is better for making pipes because old fruit can be too soft to hold its shape.

  1. Soda Can:

Flatten one side of empty can until it forms a small divot. Using a knife or screw needle, punch holes in the can to create the bowl. Punch additional hole in the side of the can for carb. Draw hit from can opening. Soda have chemical linings on the inside and out. Make sure to burn off the harmful material before taking the first hit.

Pro Tip:

Right handed smokers like a carb on the left of the pipe while left handed smokers prefer a carb on the right side. This makes it easy for the thumb to close or open the hole while toking.

  1. Strawberry:

Use a straw to core the strawberry. Create a second hole with the straw intersecting the first at ~90 degrees. Place a joint in the hole and draw hit from first hole.

Pro Tip:

You can use a steel 1/2″ or 10mm socket as a makeshift bowl.

  1. Knife Hits:

Roll a piece of paper up into a cone with an opening at both ends. Secure paper with tape or origami that shit to make a smoke hood. Take two kitchen knives and place the blade side against a heating element until red hot. Take a small pea sized nug (of any grade cannabis) and twist between knives beneath wide end of hood. Draw hit from narrow end of hood.

Pro Tip:

Cut the bottom off a 2-liter bottle. Punch holes in bottom piece. Fill bottle with ice and wedge bottom piece into the top piece. This creates a cooling ice dome that makes the smoke significantly smoother.

  1. Paper Towel Steamroller:

Drill a 1/2″ hole 3/4 of the way down an empty paper towel roll tube. Wedge a 10mm socket securely into the hole. Draw through the end furthest from the bowl and use the palm of the hand to cover the other end like a carb.

Pro Tip:

Fill a different empty paper towel roll with wadded up dryer sheets. When exhaling smoke, blow through the sheet-filled tube. The air on the other side smells like fresh laundry instead of pure resin.

  1. Coconut:

Drill a hole in top of the coconut. Drain the milk and set aside. Drill second hole intersecting first in the center of the coconut at ~135 degrees. Place joint in second hole. Draw hit from first hole.

Pro Tip:

You can use the coconut juice as bong water if you drop a stem down the second hole.

  1. Sobe Hit:

Using a nail or screw driver, punch a hole in the bottom divot of a glass Sobe bottle and set aside. Cut 1/2″ hole in the lid of the bottle. Wedge a 10mm socket into the hole in the cap. Cover hole in the bottom of the bottle and fill with water. Screw cap back on and fill with weed. Uncover bottom hole and light bowl simultaneously. Once all water has drained, unscrew cap and draw hit through bottle mouthpiece.

Pro Tip:

Hold Sobe bottle above a pitcher to catch and reuse the water. This also makes it easy to do gravity bong hits if the bottom breaks out of the bottle.

  1. Lightsaber:

Unscrew blade portion of saber and set handle aside. Remove plastic light bulb housing. Apply thin line of superglue to base of plastic cup. Slice top 1″ off the saber blade. Drill 1/2″ hole in second to bottom section of blade. Drill second 1/2″ hole 1 inch above and directly opposite the first hole. Take a 1/2″ straw and wedge a 10mm socket into one end securely. Insert the open end of the straw into the hole at ~45-degree angle. Fill the bottle with water until the tip of the straw is submerged but ensure the liquid does not reach the first hole. Load the weed into the socket, cover the second hole with thumb and draw through the open end of the blade.

Pro Tip:

Steel down-stems are commonly available in a variety of sizes at smoke shops. A properly sized down-stem should almost tough the opposite corner of the bottom of the chamber. Having it touch can transfer heat and cause plastic parts to melt faster.
